A lifelong West Ham supporter and photographer has followed the club for over 40 years, absorbing the rituals, faces and quiet moments that define Upton Park. That lifetime of attachment found its focus on a single, unforgettable day.

Shot largely on 10 May 2016: the final match at the Boleyn Ground against Man Utd. The book captures a bittersweet, deeply meaningful moment for supporters. The Hammers’ spirited 3–2 victory gave the stadium a fitting send-off, but it was also the last day at the ground that generations of fans had grown up with. For many fans, the Boleyn Ground holds vivid, shared memories; this project aims to honour those memories.

The project was never intended as a solo achievement. The creator devised the concept and steered its visual direction but welcomed many contributors, including pupils from a nearby primary school and a handful of young creatives, so the images reflect multiple perspectives. 

More than a record of a single ground, this small book is a love letter to the supporters’ experience: friendships formed in turnstile queues, rituals passed between generations, and the quiet moments that make a place feel like home. Compact in format but large in feeling, it invites anyone who stood on those terraces to see Upton Park again through the eyes of devoted fans.
